IOIA / FOG Basic Organic Crop Inspection Training

Florida Organic Growers (FOG), in partnership with the International Organic Inspectors Association (IOIA), will host an in‑person Basic Organic Crop Inspection Training designed for individuals seeking foundational knowledge and skills in organic crop inspection. This five‑day training follows IOIA’s nationally and internationally recognized curriculum and focuses on inspecting organic crop operations in compliance with the USDA National Organic Program (NOP).

Participants will gain practical instruction on organic standards, organic system plans, inspection procedures, audit trails, risk assessment, report writing, input materials review, natural resource management, and professional inspector conduct, including ethics and confidentiality. The course blends classroom learning with applied discussion and requires full attendance at all sessions. Completion of this training is an essential step for those pursuing work as organic inspectors or advancing their professional understanding of organic certification systems.
