Opportunities and Benefits of Heritage Foods Symposium is the first event as part of Santa Fe College’s Florida Heritage Foods Initiative. This initiative is intended to stimulate the heritage food economy in Florida through efforts of educating growers and consumers on the benefits of diversity in crop varieties, as well as the nutritional and culinary value of heritage foods.

This first symposium on September 29, 2022 will take place at Santa Fe College’s Blount Center in Gainesville, FL and will bring together farmers, educators, and community leaders who will be hosting workshops, presentations, and talks on entrepreneurship and farming, growing and selling culturally significant crops, food and culture, and integrating heritage foods into curriculum.
