Dr. Franklin Quarcoo Joins Florida Organic Growers’ Board of Directors


Gainesville, Florida December 15, 2023- Florida Organic Growers (FOG) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Franklin Quarcoo, an esteemed Assistant Research-Extension Professor of Entomology at Tuskegee University, to its distinguished Board of Directors.

Dr. Quarcoo, fondly known as Franklin, brings a wealth of expertise in organic farming practices, particularly in integrated pest management within organic vegetable production systems. His passion for aiding farmers and nurturing the next generation of organic enthusiasts is evident in his extensive research and extension work.

In collaboration with the National Organic Program, Dr. Quarcoo recently spearheaded the Tuskegee Human Capital Project, successfully establishing an innovative organic internship program for both high school and graduate school students. His commitment to advancing organic agriculture is further exemplified by his role as a member of the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB).

Expressing his enthusiasm about joining the FOG’s Board of Directors, Dr. Quarcoo stated, “Joining the FOG board affords me a highly appreciated opportunity to participate in the management of one of the most consequential and impactful organic organizations in the southeastern United States.”
