November 2009 > Newly Formed Florida Food Policy Council Meets

The newly formed Florida Food Policy Counci (FFPC) met Oct. 17 at the Sarasota County Extension Office to to elect a Leadership Board with representatives from south, central and north Florida. The FFPC will support local foodshed initiatives by a variety of means, such as legislation, education, action committees, fund raising events, etc. The next meeting is in approximately six months and a website will also soon be launched.
